Beat the Crowds (and the Fees): The Insider’s Guide to St. Ives

As the streets of St. Ives begin to fill with the summer bustle, there is a smarter way to experience the magic of Cornwall without the "holiday let" price tag or the tourist crowds. Booking your stay through major platforms like Airbnb or Booking.com often means paying inflated rates to cover their hefty service fees

By coming directly to St. Ives Bizzy Bees, you bypass those middleman costs entirely, securing a reduced rate that puts more money back in your pocket for the things that matter—like that extra meal out on the town or a handcrafted souvenir from one of our famous artisan markets πŸ›οΈ.

We believe a memorable holiday shouldn’t start with a service fee, but with a personal connection and a better deal 🀝.

Naked Sunbathing

While the main beaches like Porthmeor and Porthminster are stunning, they can get a bit "cosy" during peak season πŸ–οΈ.

One of the best perks of booking with a local management company is the "off-map" knowledge we share with our guests πŸ—ΊοΈ. If you want to avoid the throngs, I can point you toward those elusive hidden gems that don't make the standard brochures πŸ’Ž. There are quiet, rugged spots like Bamaluz Beach hidden in plain sight, or the vast, nearly deserted sands of Porthkidney at low tide where you can actually hear the waves instead of the crowds. For the truly adventurous, there are even a few secluded "unofficial" spots perfect for naked sunbathing on a sandy beach to bronze up those areas that don’t see the sun very often of course for those looking for total freedom that is 🌊.

Beyond the shoreline

The real heart of St. Ives is found in its vibrant creative scene 🎨.

Skip the generic gift shops and head to the local Artisan Markets to meet the makers, bakers, and producers who define our town.

Whether you are looking for a historical retreat or a thrill-seeking adventure, we specialise in matching you with the perfect base to explore it all.

Your rejuvenating escape is just a direct message away ✨.

The St Ives Food & Drink Festival

Is returning to the golden sands of Porthminster Beach next week, running from Friday 15 May to Sunday 17 May 2026.

As the UK's only beach-based food festival, this free-to-attend event offers a weekend packed with culinary talent, featuring the popular Chef's Fire Pit demonstrations where local and celebrity chefs like Jack Stein and Jude Kereama showcase their skills over open flames. Beyond the demonstrations, you can explore a sprawling artisan market filled with local producers, grab a bite from the street food village, or enjoy free live music on the Beach Stage throughout the day.

New for 2026, the festival has introduced the Chef's Table for intimate masterclasses and a family-friendly Little Nippers Green to keep the younger visitors entertained with creative workshops and circus skills.

It’s the perfect time for guests to sample the very best of Cornwall's larder while soaking up the unbeatable seaside atmosphere.
